List of Piano Makes

A comprehensive list of piano makes from all countries since piano production began. The majority of pianos on this list tend to originate from England, this is mainly because in the early 20th century there were thousands of pianos being produced in factories across England with hundreds of different brands applied to them. The piano shops would either put their own name on the piano or introduce a new one, thus creating all these different brands. It is still happening today, but the production has shifted to the Far East; mainly China, Indonesia, Korea and Japan. Most of these Far Eastern pianos tend to have German names.

Here is a list of some of the Far Eastern piano makes currently sold in today's market:
Waldstein, Reid-Sohn, Steinmeyer, Dorfmann, Schafer, Numeyer, Eavestaff, Broadwood, Challen, Nordiska, Hermann, Hohner, Nordiska and Regent.
