“The Broadway B1 digital piano has exceeded my expectations and the touch is really close to a real piano”
Really impressed with all the advice given by Graham Howard. The Howard score seems well researched. Certainly the piano I purchased (broadway b1) has exceeded my expectations of a budget instrument.
Excellent delivery too. Really knows his stuff!
Well I have done something I never thought I would do. I have purchased an instrument blind!
I am head of music in a large school and very much a third instrument pianist.
However I have taken much care and done much research before settling on the Broadway.
Initial impressions are most favourable. The touch is really close to a real piano and most of the sounds are excellent. My preference to date being grand piano 3 which sounds most realistic and pleasant. Using the record feature I have already played some piano duets on my own – how sad is that?
All very intuitive and, although described and priced as a beginners instrument I look forward to starting work on my grade 8 in the new year. As Graham explained to me the apparent lack of wattage is not reflected in the sound quality or quantity at all.
Fantastic product and I admit I was expecting to be disappointed but I am not. I am actually very impressed indeed and am glad I had faith in the reviews and advice. Thanks!

“My daughter loves it – it sounds and feels just like her teacher’s Yamaha”
After looking around and reading lots of information on digital pianos we have a new piano.
We got the broadway b1. It arrived today and my daughter loves it.
We wanted just a digital piano not an all singing all dancing piano, so we’re pleased with the broadway b1 , it does
more than i was looking for and the sound is very good.
My daughter says its sounds and feels just like her teachers digital piano, although hers is 5 years old and was a
lot more expensive – its a Yamaha. So we are very pleased with the broadway and with what we paid.

“The Broadway compared very favourably with other more expensive brands”
As the accompanist to a church-related choir, I have been struggling with a piano that was long past its best, and suggested to the conductor that we should have a replacement, and preferably a digital piano, if funds would allow.
I started researching and came across the UK Pianos website and Graham Howard’s fantastically detailed reviews and advice. The choir had a very limited budget but it would reach to the Broadway B1, the second most popular and his recommendation as the best piano under £800, if we could get an ex-demo model, which would still have a 3 year warranty. An online chat with Graham convinced me and I made the 60 minute trip to Enfield to try out the rosewood ex-demo in stock. I was immediately impressed by the sound, the weighted hammer action, the different tones and the variety of voices and features. While waiting for Graham I did briefly try some of the other pianos in stock, and felt that the Broadway compared very favourably with other more expensive brands, and so I purchased the piano.
Before the next choir rehearsal I had a chance to get to know the piano better and really test out the various voices and features. I love the grand piano sounds, electric piano 2 , the ability to split and have either a double bass or electric bass sound in the bass and a piano or organ sound in the right hand, the layering feature to add strings or chorus and the tone control. The only slight downsides are- I would have liked an electronic counter for the metronome, and other then the layer or split functions, you can’t change voice in the middle of a piece, as you need both hands to press the button and appropriate key. The page in the manual which shows the 14 additional voices could be rather clearer and larger. But overall a very impressive instrument for the money, and on its maiden outing on Monday, the choir were very impressed with the instrument, its sounds, the tone, the light and shade and the volume available. So thanks Graham and the team for making it easy for us to get such a good piano for the money.

“Compared to the Yamaha the difference in sound quality was striking”
Today I went into my local shop with the intention of looking at a Yamaha Arius 141 for final confirmation of my decision to invest in one for the family.
I was then given a demonstration of the Broadway B1. The difference in sound quality was striking – the Broadway was vastly superior with a richer, expressive, more resonant, warm and room filling quality.
They seem to be a British company with a strong customer service ethos.

“Looks good and sounds great”
We purchased a Broadway B1 in the autumn of 2012 and we are very pleased with that choice, and the help we received in making it.
We had thought about getting something far more expensive but Graham was on hand to advise that this would be perfectly suitable for the stage we’re at (complete beginners!) So full credit to UK Pianos that they were happy to advise a customer to spend far less than they were originally anticipating and to have a doubly-happy customer at the end.
When we do eventually grow out of this one (in a few years time) we’re sure to return to UK Pianos for a different model, but for now the Broadway B1 is an excellent choice for beginners.
It fits nicely in our lounge, looks good and sounds great. The weighted keys and velocity-sensitivity feel very accurate and our 6-yr-old loves putting it into percussion mode and freestyling wildly like Animal from the Muppets! Brilliant.

“Thanks to the team at UK pianos for your good customer service as even when things go wrong, you sort it out.”
I found the search for a piano close enough to the feel of an acoustic piano a nightmare due to the numerous choices available. I was about settling for the Yamaha CVP-501 due to a deal on it in a particular shop, as well its great bells and whistles.
I also considered the Yamaha Arius YDP 135 and 141, however, after reading Graham’s very helpful book of buying pianos and extracting the information I required, I spoke to Graham and some of his colleagues at UK pianos for more advice. Graham suggested the Broadway B1 which I don’t I had even heard of by then. I got the impression that they are not just after the money and that if they thought a cheaper piano will serve your needs, they will advise you against spending a fortune, unless you really need to spend on a piano.
With the Broadway B1 not available in piano shops in my area, I had to do a lot of research on it and buy it without trying it out first. The 30-day (or 60?) money back guarantee was appealing as well as the 3-year guarantee, not to mention its features.
I must say I am very happy with the feel and sound of the piano and even its colour and matching stool. About the speaker volume, they are loud enough for me and I usually only use about half of the volume. Graham was right, very good sound for 2x7w speakers. The piano fits beautifully in my lounge and for what I paid for it and what I am experiencing with it, I am glad I didn’t go for the far more expensive Yamaha CVP-501.
It is easy enough to assemble (5 pieces – 2 legs, pedal box, back board and keyboard box); however, some of the screws are made of rather soft metal so they wear off with tightening.
I found the cardboard padding in the box difficult to reuse in the event of repacking the piano for return as was the case due to mine arriving with a couple of dodgy keys and the wrong stool. Something like a Styrofoam would have been ideal as opposed to the numerous pieces of cardboard stuck together to provide padding. The replacement piano arrived as arranged and I am very happy with it.
All in all, I am happy with my choice of piano and many thanks to the team at UK pianos. I could actually have bought the same piano £8 cheaper elsewhere but I decided that all the free advice Graham puts out there was worth more than £8!
When you ask around for the Broadway B1, some shops will try to put you off it because it is not as known as the big brands; well, someone has got to try them to find out if they are worth it like was done for the now ‘big’ brands decades ago!
Once again, thanks to the team at UK pianos for your good customer service as even when things go wrong, you sort it out.

“Lovely sound, good voices and variations for touch”
Hi Graham,
I have had the B1 Broadway over a week now , and am very pleased, Lovely sound, good voices and variations for touch, tune etc, The cabinet is very nice, but my wife would have liked a little shine on the wood, to blend in with dinning room furniture. I believe this piano is very good, in particular for its price, and can do most anything one would require for many years to come.
With many thanks for your help and advice.

“I was very impressed with the build quality”
I bought a Broadway B1 for my daughter for Christmas. I was very impressed with the build quality and the ease of assembly. I confess to not being an expert regarding piano’s but have a long experience with music and a good ear for sound quality and must say I was very impressed by the reality of the piano sound.
The controls are very easy to operate and the sound volume fills a fairly large hallway space. The price was very good. I was however allowed to order a piano stool whilst not being informed that there already was one in the box. Overall well worth the money.

“I prefer the Broadway over the Yamaha Arius and any Casio piano”
We were searching for a good quality piano for the family to use and weren’t quite sure whether to go digital or buy an old upright acoustic and risk that it would tune \ stay in tune ok. In the end we decided that we would go digital as overall the yearly costs of tuning \ risk of potentially getting a turkey put us off a second hand acoustic.
We began by doing the usual stuff trawling the web and listening to some youtube reviews etc etc, tbh I was still as confused as ever then we stumbled on Grahams Digital Piano Buyers guide. This really helped clear things up for, as well as giving us the basic concepts and functionality we should be looking out for, it also rated digital pianos on those properties allowing us to clearly focus on what we wanted and where we would be best spending our money.
In the end we went with the Broadway B1, we’ve had it a few weeks now and I can say the whole family is delighted with it. It has lovely realistic weighted keys, is easy to assemble, the functions within it are intuitive and easy to get the hang of and it looks fantastic in the Dark Rosewood finish. I have played a few other more expensive digital pianos in the interim, two Casios and one lower end Yamaha Arius and I have to say I prefer the B1 over any of them. I felt that the touch in the B1 was by far the most realistic and acoustic piano like, sound wise the B1 also held it’s own admirably and managed to do it at a much more realistic price tag.
Thanks to Graham and the team at ukpianos for all the impartial help and advice and professional service. I’d highly recommend both them and the Broadway B1.

“My son is delighted with his choice. We also liked Yamaha, but at four times the price of Broadway B1 it wasn’t worth the extra”
Until a week ago I knew nothing about pianos, but I have a 15 year old son – Nick – who really enjoys his music and is progressing onto grade 3, as well and playing other instruments. So, we thought it about time we invested in a piano of some kind. We knew from his tutor that he needed weighted keys and he wanted something in his room so he could be private (so being upstairs, this was pointing us towards a digital piano). Other than that we really did not know where to start. That was, until we came across Graham’s guide on the internet.
My honest opinion is that reading Graham’s guide cover-to-cover probably tells you everything you need to know about what is likely to be important when selecting a piano for your circumstances. And it allows you to understand and filter-out the red herrings and sales garbage in brochures and online.
Within 30 minutes, as a novice, I knew we needed medium-to-heavy weighted keys, a dynamic range of three if not four levels, and so on. I now knew, for example, that we’d make sure that the chosen piano had lines out that will allow Nick to connect an amp in the future and to use software on a laptop to record and write the music he plays.
Armed with this knowledge, we headed for our local music store where there was a selection of two Yamaha and two Casios. I’d already read about the top brands and knew the breadth of manufacturers in Graham’s guide – there simply was not the range locally to choose well. So, we drove for an hour to UK Pianos in Enfield, North London.
Graham was friendly and very helpful. We described our price range and the spec and features that we felt were important. Graham guided Nick to pianos in our price range and, at our request, he tried those and some above and below.
Nick decided on the Broadway B1 because it had heavier weighted keys, has a roundness of tone that he liked and is at a sensible budget for us. However, we both liked a Yamaha, but at four-times the price of the Broadway we agreed it was not worth the extra for Nick’s level!
Nick is delighted with his choice. I say it’s his choice because it was. He spent probably 30+ minutes in the shop playing and moving from one piano to the next; comparing and just making sure the choice was right, it’s a personal thing for the pianist I think. There was never any hurrying from Graham and his team.
I can hear him playing in his room now. It sounds fabulous.
If Nick continues his progress and piano interest, we’ll have no hesitation in returning to Grahams store in Enfield in the future to buy his next piano, but I suspect that’s a little way off.

“This piano has renewed her interest in learning”
Dear Graham
Many thanks for your help in choosing a piano for our daughter.
We had a limited budget and on your recommendation we purchased a Broadway B1 from UKPianos.
My daughter has been playing for 2 years on an acoustic piano, both at home and at lessons and she was amazed at how close this piano sounded and felt when she first played it.
We have only had it a few days but already she is playing better and more consistently.
This piano has renewed her interest in learning and she is noticeably progressing with her playing already.
We were very grateful for your free guide and detailed scores which made it much easier to chose, without it we would probably chosen a cheaper one which would not have been so pleasurable to play.
Thanks too for the emails answering all our questions before we made our purchase, you were very quick and knowledgable with your responses.
The customer service and communication that we received was also very good and made the whole experience hassle free.
I will be recommending you and your company to our piano playing family and friends.

I bought the Broadway B1 digital piano for my daughter for Christmas, after reading the reviews on the uk pianos site.
The piano was delivered very promptly, well in time for Christmas. My daughter opened it Christmas day and she was delighted. We noticed there was a problem with the piano casing(a manufacturing fault). We contacted uk pianos and the staff were fantastic. they told us we could use the piano and at the first opportunity (it was Christmas after all) a replacement would be sent. Needless to say they kept their word and changed the piano asap.
My daughter loves to play this piano and I must say, it sounds fantastic.
I would like to thank uk pianos for all the assistance given to me regarding my problem. The communication was first class. I would thoroughly recommend this piano along with this company to my friends.

“Obviously a bargain at its price and a lovely elegant compact looking piano too”
Hi Graham
Just to let you know that I got the Broadway B1 safely back to Basingstoke and set it up (on my own, so the main section much too heavy for me to lift onto the pedal section as per the instructions, but I found that putting the main section on its back and fixing the legs/pedal section, then tipping it carefully the right way up worked a treat. Might be useful info for anyone else doing it on their own).
It looks and sounds fantastic in my dining room – plenty loud enough, and actually sounds a little less ‘bright’ than in the shop. Thank you for your very sound advice, it’s quite obviously a bargain at its price and a lovely elegant compact looking piano too. Can’t wait to get practising!
Thank you all for your care, help and advice this morning.

“I was surprised by the quality of both the sound and the feel”
I bought a Broadway model B1 in rosewood. It was delivered yesterday evening by a very pleasant and helpful chap who had no problem in helping me carry it up to the 1st floor where it is going to live.
Assembly was pretty straight forward, although the design of my unit was slightly different than the one in the instruction manual. The legs were of different design and six screws were supplied and required to attach the backboard rather than the five mentioned.
I felt the whole thing was very well packed. Assembled it looks very good and has a pleasing air of solidity to it.
It powered up without problems and I was impressed with my initial play with it. As a model at the lower end of the range you offer I was surprised by the quality of both the sound and the feel. I can only imagine how delightful the more expensive models are to play!
It has a lot of features that are easy to understand and access. I suspect that I will rarely use anything beyond the grand piano, pipe organ sound, the metronome and perhaps the ability to record and listen to my playing, but I can see that there is a lot of versatility to it.
Overall, the service has been excellent. I was given good advice on my initial phone enquiry. Placing the order was straight-forward and delivery was flexible and swift.
My only gripe is that the gentleman I placed the order with suggested the addition of a piano stool and, in particular, that it would be useful to store music in. As such I went for this option. However, the piano stool that was delivered, whilst well-built and solid, has no place for storing music.

“Broadway B1 is better than the Casio and Kawai and costs less”
Dear Graham
We are so very pleased with our new Broadway B1 piano.
Our requirement was for an electric piano (can turn down the sound) that had a quality sound and feel, took up little space, looked good as a piece of furniture (black), for around the £800 mark so our daughter could keep up her practice (been playing one year).
After much research this seemed impossible until I found your web site. What we got from you was a wealth of information that could narrow down our search, great accurate response with comparison’s on our choices and a piano that took the best from our favourites (Casio and Kawai) which were much more expensive, and improved upon them. It is hard to believe reviews sometimes but I can see that yours are all genuine.

“It is very difficult to tell the difference between this and a real piano”
As I’ve now had some time to try out my new piano (Broadway B1), please find below my review.
Firstly, thanks for your invaluable advice contained in your free guide and the Howard Score, and your responses to my emails. After taking all this into consideration, along with reviews from other purchasers of the Broadway B1, this is the model I chose as it suited my budget and requirements.
Having played the piano for a few days now, I find it very difficult to tell the difference between this and a real piano. I am enjoying playing again, after many years’ break from regular piano playing, and having the headphones is a real bonus as I can practice without disturbing the rest of the household!
Following initial problems with the first piano that was delivered (damaged by couriers), I received a replacement within just over a week and this is perfect. On this basis, I have no hesitation in recommending UK Pianos Ltd.

Review for Broadway B1 Digital piano:
I had to download Graham’s Guide for buying pianos when I needed to buy an electric piano for my daughter, as there are so many products all with similar but slightly different features.
After narrowing it down to two, the Yamaha 142 & Broadway B1, I emailed Graham for some definitive advice.
I decided to order the Broadway B1 online on the Tuesday, got a courtesy call Wednesday to arrange delivery and recieved it on Friday at the right time and in good condition, excellent service considering I’m in Northern Ireland. Really top marks for service in this amazon / ebay era!
The piano itself is fantastic, it looks really well and is very substantial. The keys feel superb are fully weighted and the sound quality is really very good indeed. There’s plenty ( a bit too much really) of volume available with no discernible distortion and a headphone socket thankfully. More importantly my daughter loves it and her excitement on her birthday was worth any amount of money.
Huge thanks to Graham and the team.

Thanks very much for your help and service, I am very pleased with my purchase, one I would not have made without your help.
Background.
I wanted a piano but had a tight budget. The Yamaha YDP162 was everything I wanted but beyond my means. The Yamaha YDP142 was just within my means but I didn’t like the sound. Having read Graham’s guide to pianos I thought the Broadway B1 met my requirements but I had never heard of them or what they sounded like. That brings me onto service:
Service.
Excellent, in a word. Firstly, Graham’s guide was invaluable. Secondly, all queries were answered promptly. I was even sent a video message of the B1 being played, which was what I needed. Thirdly, I ordered the piano at lunchtime Tuesday and received it lunchtime Thursday – very good.
Delivery.
I was at home to receive the delivery but it would have helped if the courier had given me a ‘heads-up’ on the approximate delivery date/time. The piano is well packed but it requres two people to carry and unpack (the package weighs in at 121 lb! The box needs to be inspected upon delivery to ensure the courier hasn’t caused any damage.
The Broadway B1.
The piano was easy to assemble with clear instructions though unless you are a weightlifter it takes two to set the piano onto the assembled stand. It is sturdily constructed and looks good.
The feel and sound of the piano is great. It sounds better than the YDP142 – much deeper and mellower – and feels just as good. I would prefer the keys to return a little more quietly but this is purely personal and is not noticable when playing. The Broadway B1 is excellent value for money, a sub-£800 piano weighing in with the £1000+ instruments.
Overall.
I recommend the Broadway B1 – you get a good piano for your money.
I highly recommend UK Pianos – they are very helpful, competitively priced and the service I received was excellent.

UK Pianos Rent-to-buy Broadway B1 digital piano
Having spent some considerable time researching the current DP market and dismissed second-hand online auction purchases, I discovered UK Pianos rent-to-buy scheme, remembering that some 30+ years ago I had rented an electronic organ from the old Radio Rentals. UK Pianos – what an excellent find!
Graham Howards’s DP “Bible”and scoring system (free download) etc was more than helpful, backed up by a quietly unassuming but very informative Graham himself, on the other end of ‘phone or e-mail. This all came together to make the final choice of instrument well-informed and well-considered.
We visited the showroom in Enfield so as to be able to make a hands-on choice (Rent-to-buy mostly Broadway & Classenti with some other pre-owned units; outright purchase a good range to choose from including Yamaha, Roland), not to mention examine the various wood finishes available. We chose the Broadway B1 – this is not the place to enter into deep discussion about which piano is better than others, because each person will have their own requirements, ideas, budget etc; one person’s idea of the perfect piano may not be anothers. What is notable, however, is the aforementioned unassuming and modest approach of Graham Howard backed up by very helpful staff – nothing is too much trouble. No sales talk, pressure to move on and overload of demonstration/jargon – Graham gave a short demo (at our request) of the 2 possible choices of instrument which we had made and then left us to move back and for sampling for ourselves at our complete leisure – although always at hand to explain any point if requested. You have as much time as you need to make an unrushed decision.
Referral to the website will explain the detail of Rent-to-buy but what better way to proceed, rather than a large capital outlay which may later prove to have been not quite the right move. We collected the B1 in our own car a couple of days later (having spent the weekend in London); valuable help given to dismantle the packaging and load everything into our car and then on our way with no fuss whatever.
The Broadway B1 fitted together very easily and very well; wouldn’t suggest attempting to lift keyboard onto stand on your own but everything connected as per the manual and hey presto! A great choice for a mature (64) learner taking lessons on an acoustic piano, but who doesn’t have any ideas about moving on to performing in concert!
All in all, a very pleasurable experience, hence the review – we are rarely moved to put entries on forums and review sites, so it must be good. Well done Graham & Co.

“The piano gets the seal of approval from my daughter and her piano teacher”
I was very happy with all aspects of the service received from Graham and UK Piano’s.
It’s a big investment and as I know nothing about piano’s (it was a purchase for our daughter), the advice and time taken by Graham before purchase really helped me feel confident that we were buying the right piano.
Once the decision was made on a Broadway B1, the service received from UK Pianos was then excellent in terms of accuracy on promises (it arrived exactly when promised) down to the help from the driver who went above and beyond normal expectation as he helped me smuggle the piano into the house without our daughter seeing it before she was supposed to.
Finally, the Piano itself is very good. It’s solid and has a high quality feel (which is as much as I can say as a non piano player) but more importantly, the piano gets the seal of approval from my daughter and her piano teacher, so all in all, very happy.
Thanks to all involved.

“I’d definitely recommend it to a friend”
I recently purchased the Broadway B1 in black from UK Pianos in Enfield. It was easy to set up and plays really well. Excellent purchase. I’d definitely recommend it to a friend. In addition the purchase was easy and there was very good customer service.

“It’s a pleasure to play”
Graham made a daunting purchase very easy and stress free. We didn’t have room for my upright piano so wanted a digital one that would play like a ‘real’ piano and be good for the children to learn on.
Based on Graham’s advice we purchased a Broadway B1 in maple (he even talked me through the colours over the phone when this was the only decision left to make!).
It arrived two days after placing the order. The piano is stylish, fits in our space and is a pleasure to play. I would highly recommend both UK pianos and the Broadway.

“Broadway piano is just the ticket”
I found Graham and his team extremely helpful and the Broadway piano just the ticket. My granddaughter was so excited when it arrived and now practices mostly every day.
I would certainly tell anyone looking to purchase a piano, head for UK PIANOS, you will be glad that you did.

“I recommend both the Broadway B1 and UK Pianos”
Hello Graham and UK Pianos
Thank you very much for your really helpful guidance, it is excellent and really helped me to decide which piano was right for me.
I purchased the Broadway 1 from UK Pianos – partly because of the product spec which more than meets my requirements, and partly because of the fantastic guidance and information provided by you / UK Pianos.
I also really like the offer you make for customers who might want to rent initially and then purchase later – allowing them to put the rent towards the purchase price. I think this is a great idea and is really supportive.
I love my digital piano – it is fab – and I (and my entire family who all wanted a turn of playing!) are really enjoying playing
I would recommend both the Broadway B1 and UK Pianos (for excellent customer service and prompt delivery) to anyone considering a digital piano.
Many thanks for all of your help

“It really could not be better”
Dear Graham,
Everything is absolutely perfect with my broadway piano! It arrived when it should, where it should and was easy to put together (my youngest granddaughter proudly told me she put the piano stool together herself).
It is exactly what was required and both granddaughters are wildly enthusiastic about it, I heard them both practising tonight.
It really could not be better or a better service from UKPianos.
Many thanks,

“The whole family love the Broadway digital piano”
Graham Howard of UK Pianos offered friendly helpful advice regarding choosing the right piano for my family.
Once we had chosen the delivery of the piano took only a few days, the delivery team were really efficient.
The whole family love the Broadway digital piano, but not only that, we are very impressed with UK Pianos, thankyou.

“We are all delighted with the purchase and the UK Pianos service”
We live in rural North Leicestershire some way form Piano showrooms. Our 6 year old grandson recently started piano lessons at his teacher’s house and we needed to get a piano on which he could learn/practice.
His teacher uses an acoustic grand and stressed the need for a full size keyboard and weighted keys to get the learning process off on the right foot.
Not knowing too much about digital pianos, I found Graham’s Digital Piano Bible very helpful in learning what to look for and what the really crucial factors were.
This led to shortlisting the Broadway B1 and the Yamaha YDP162. They are quite closely matched in performance and we eventually opted for the Broadway B1.
The latter has the Maple colour choice which was better for my daughter’s modern town house colour scheme!
The purchase process went smoothly (we used the 9 month interest free credit option) and the piano was delivered a few days later as per expectations/advice.
One small point to note is that when using the credit purchase route, UK Pianos can only deliver to the address of the Credit applicant (a reasonable precaution if you think about it).
So I had to transport the unpacked box some 20 miles up the road to Newark where my daughter and grandson live. (The box fitted easily in my Honda Civic Tourer – it has a flat floor.)
The B1 comes in a heavy box (45kg?) and on delivery to us there had been some slight damage to the packing carton which we photographed and noted on the delivery signature tablet.
(This was advised by the UK Pianos order confirmation email in case of any internal damage.)
However, the internal packing is well designed and executed so that the piano itself was in perfect condition.
Getting the piano up to the first floor living room was a bit daunting. We unpacked the components on the front lawn (a rare dry day!) and took pieces up one at a time.
Only the keyboard unit itself is heavy and comes in its own packaging box so with two people it’s reasonably manageable.
Assembly was straightforward. I took it slowly following the clear manual instructions.
The piano looks great and a smart addition to the contemporary neutral colours which my daughter favours.
As for playing it’s early days yet, but our grandson and 3 year grand daughter were both very excited to see the piano installed and immediately wanted to try it out.
The machine is well built and the default Grand Piano ‘voice’ has a very full resonant sound for such relatively small speakers (see Graham’s review for more details).
I noted that as well as the 2 main elliptically shaped speakers, sited under the keyboard, there are two small circular shaped “tweeters” which would appear to help the ‘top end’ treble notes to have greater resonance and ‘sparkle’.
If you have a chance to listen before purchase (not easy for us as we are over 100 miles from Enfield and 80 miles form any other Broadway piano dealer) then look/listen out for this.
Overall conclusion? We are all delighted with the purchase and the UK Pianos service has been all that one would expect and hope for. No hesitation in recommending this firm which actually seems to care for its customers!
So thank you Graham and the other members of the UK Pianos team for making this process so straightforward and successful.

“The choir are very pleased with their Broadway piano”
We use this piano for a ladies choir and at some venues there is no instrument, so the Broadway comes with us.
Everyone is more than satisfied with the piano.
I first came across the Broadway B1 at my daughter’s in Ely, she had recently purchased the same model and I thought
it would be ideal for my choir. Although I have a upright piano at home, the Broadway is an ideal model as it
is touch sensitive and a good tone.

“Broadway B1 was the most suitable for our purpose”
I needed to find a reasonably priced, compact digital keyboard with a good piano sound that could be lifted on and off stage (for storage) by our local church drama group.
Having read dozens of different reviews on various keyboards I decided that the Broadway B1 was the most suitable for our purpose. Frankly I was amazed at the quality and versatility of this instrument at the price – the numerous useful effects such as layering, twin and split piano are easy to access due to the user friendly layout and the weighted keys feel just like a ‘real’ piano. I was initially concerned about volume levels as the instrument is in a large school hall, but I needn’t have worried as the speaker system proved to be more than adequate for our needs.
I really would have expected to pay considerably more for such a quality keyboard – thumbs up to Graham Howard and UK Pianos for their help.

“I’m surprised that such a sturdy piano could have cost less than £1,000”
Broadway B1 Digital Piano
I bought this piano on the strength of the very helpful piano guide and detailed specifications on the UK Pianos website, together with the comments by other customers, and I was not disappointed. The most significant comment I’ve received about the new piano was surprise that such a sturdy piano could have cost less than £1,000, as others in its price range can seem so flimsy. After sales service was extremely efficient; after I realised I’d received no invoice/receipt for the piano, I emailed UK Pianos and was sent a personal reply only 5 minutes later, followed by a copy of the invoice 1 minute after that.

“Piano initially was for my son, but I I tried the piano and fell instantly in love with it”
I have bought a Broadway B1 on a rent-to buy plan a couple of months ago for my teenager son who wanted to start playing.
Having a tight budget I was hesitant between a new EZ-102 or a second-hand B1, so I contacted Howard to know his opinion.
He gave me clear and detailed explanations about the differences between them and guaranteed the good condition of the second- hand one, making the decision easier. Even though the piano initially was for my son, I tried the piano when it arrived and fell instantly in love with it. I’ve been playing almost everyday for the last two months and I am very pleased about its quality. Fingering is very much alike acoustic pianos and the sound is nice, the only negative aspect I can find is a little unbalance between the sound of the lower notes as compared to the very high pitched ones.
I would like to thank Howard and all the team for answering all my doubts and guiding me through the process. Keep the good work!!

“The difference between the Broadway was instantly noticeable”
While looking to replace my daughters electronic keyboard with something more akin to a proper piano, I soon realised how little I knew. I read Graham’s Free digital piano buyer’s guide which helped me understand the different terminology and any questions I had were very quickly and professionally answered.
After an email chat with Graham I opted for a Broadway B1. Ordering was very straight forward and the piano was delivered the next day.
The difference between the Broadway and the keyboard was instantly noticeable. I thoroughly recommend ukpianos and Graham for their knowledge and professionalism.

“It really has a true piano feel and sound”
Hi Graham
Just thought I would let you know that we are very pleased with the Broadway B1.
Easy to assemble and plays wonderfully – really has a true piano feel and sound.
Excellent value for money. Many happy hours ahead, for my daughter who is learning to play, and for me rekindling a long ago skill. For anyone wanting to buy a digital piano the wealth of information on your website is really super useful. Thanks.

“The Broadway suits my needs without breaking the bank”
I’m not much of a pianist- I’m a singer and need a piano for practice and accompaniment.
I bought the piano to replace a baby grand that had a cracked frame.
The Broadway suits my needs without breaking the bank!
