“We edged with the Kawai on looks”
Dear Graham,
We found the Howard Score helpful and we now have a brand new Kawai CA65 for our church and we are most impressed with it. We did look at the Yamahas and were equally impressed but for looks we edged with the Kawai.
Thank you for your very helpful guide which I will certainly refer to when I eventually upgrade my own digital piano.

“Great from first contact to delivery”
Graham’s Guide is a great tool when contemplating buying a digital piano and Graham was able to answer my many questions on live chat, which was really useful and preferable to waiting for replies to emails.
So happy with my Kawai CA65 piano, bought through UK Pianos, the touch and sound are perfect and I can play to my hearts content without disturbing neighbours and family!

“Sampled sounds were more to my taste with the Kawai”
Hi Graham
I know your reviews don’t seem to like Kawai as well as Yamaha but when it came down to paying the same thing for a Kawai CA65 and the Yamaha CLP430, I felt there was no contest. I like the sound and action of the Kawai. I have a good Steinway studio upright but since I’ve moved my mother in with me, I wanted a decent midrange keyboard mainly for silent practice so I wasn’t overly concerned with bells and whistles. The decision came down to less annoying mechanical action noise in the Kawai and, though it wasn’t possible to do side-by-side comparisons, I felt the dynamic range was better and sampled sounds were more to my taste with the Kawai. The default does have too much reverb for some music but there is a good deal of tweaking that can be done.
I purchased my piano for $2700 USD at Martin’s House of Pianos and Organs in Platteville, Wisconsin, USA, quite a trek for many of your readers, but a pleasant two-hour drive on a lovely fall afternoon for me.
