Questions
Dear Graham,
Thank you very much for sending me the manual. I wondered if you would be willing to give me some advice as well.
I do not seem to be able to use the Transpose button as described in Section 15 ‘Transpose’. When I press the Transpose button it flashes and the E.piano1, E.piano2 and Harpsichord buttons light up. (The manual does not mention this happening.) Pressing any of the F#4 to F5 keys while continuing to hold down the Transpose button does nothing. (I have noticed that if I press one of the lit up E.piano1, E.piano2 or Harpsichord buttons while continuing to hold down the Transpose button, it’s light goes out and the piano goes mute. It comes back on and the piano’s sound comes back on again if I press the button again. This is not mentioned in the manual either.)
I do not really know what Section 16 ‘Setting the Tuning Curve’ means. But I have checked, and holding down the Transpose button and pressing the Organ button as described does not appear to do anything.
However, pressing the Transpose button and then pressing the Demo button does make the Demo light flash and the Heavy and Light Touch buttons light up, exactly as described in Section 17 ‘Adjust the Master Tuning’. (The flashing E.piano1, E.piano2 and Harpsichord buttons all go off as well). I have only pressed the Transpose button again after this, as per bullet point D (i.e. to exit from the master tuning).
Everything else on the piano works very well.
Do you have any idea what might be going on here? Do you think it is a fault or am I doing something incorrectly?
Many thanks for your help
Kind regards
Sarah
Hi Sarah
I have worked it out.
If you press and hold down the transpose button
then you can change the pitch by pressing the
keys 2 octaves higher.
Example: Press C# two octaves higher than middle C#
and it will transpose the piano up a semitone.
Example: Then press C two octaves higher than middle C
and it will transpose it back down a semitone.
Try this and hope it works for you.
Kind regards
Graham

What our customers say…
1) “I would recommend this piano to anyone”
I am delighted with my recent purchase of the Classenti CDP1 ‘Bundle’, which included the adjustable piano stool and headphones.
The piano arrived very well packaged and the delivery man was very helpful and polite.
The piano was assembled within the hour by myself, my daughter and my son in law – very straightforward. I am delighted with the whole thing – tone, key touch.
The size and colour (cherry) are perfect.
All in all I would recommend this piano to anyone, and consider it extremely good value for money.
Many thanks for all your help.
A very satisfied customer.

2) “UK Pianos sell pianos at a decent price with quick delivery and good service”
I bought a Classenti CDP1 from UK Pianos. I am very impressed with the quality of the piano considering the price.
The service from UKP was prompt and efficient. I would recommend them to others, but I do suggest that you visit them in person to try before you buy.

3) “Our daughter loves the piano and has reinvigorated her passion to play”
I had been receiving emails regularly from Graham at UK Piano’s about best piano deal offers
specifications for over a year. When we decided to purchase a piano for our daughter it seemed
sensible to visit the site and reviews. Having searched various makes and sites we returned to
UK piano’s and were very impressed with their service knowledge and response.
Now my daughter has reached grade 3 we wanted a digital piano that would meet her needs for now
and into the future giving her the same experience as regular piano. and meet our budget.
The Classenti CDP1 which provides a good acoustic sound + recording met our criteria and is
compact enough to fit into our dining room.
Our daughter loves the piano and has reinvigorated her passion to play.
Good advice, pleased with piano selection and quick delivery

4) “My brother rates it higher than the Yamaha he uses at school”
I decided on the CDP 1 in the end. My brother absolutely loves it and rates it a lot higher than the Yamaha’s he uses at school. The classenti seems to be a really brilliant model and I’m exceptionally happy with the overall result.
I would like to thank you for all your assistance as well as your colleagues David and Sarah as they were a great help. Many Thanks.

Black Satin
Black satin will look particularly good in your home when accompanied with dark wood furniture. Black is the most versatile (and safest choice) out of all wood colours. And it blends in well with most shades of brown or grey.
Dark Rosewood
Dark rosewood is a dark colour that has a black and dark red natural wood grain finish. This colour goes really well with dark furniture.
Cherry
Cherry is a light wood with a hint of orange.
Polished Ebony
Polished ebony is a highly polished, mirror finish. It’s vastly superior to any satin finish. Polished ebony is harder wearing due to there being no edges or joins. Fingers marks and scratches appear more pronounced though. Polished ebony looks exceptionally smart and professional. And it will go with practically any colour scheme in your home. It looks particularly good against wooden floors or oak furniture.
Maple
Maple is a light colour (similar to beech, but with more wood grains) and slightly lighter than pine. It’s a satin maple finish that has a smooth, almost silky appearance. Its natural wood grain effect completes it beautifully.
Mahogany
Mahogany is a mid to dark brown colour with a dark brown, natural wood grain effect. This finish goes will all shades of brown furniture including: mid to dark oak, all types of mahogany, or walnut. It also looks good on oak floors.
Polished White
Polished white is a highly polished, mirror finish. It’s vastly superior to any satin finish. Polished white is harder wearing due to there being no edges or joins.

What our customers say…
“Both children are really pleased and excited by it”
Dear Graham
I have just taken delivery of the Classenti CDP1 this morning. I’ve managed to assemble it with no problems and am just going through the User Manual CD. So far, the piano sounds and feels good – both children are really pleased and excited by it.
Louise Nevill, France.
“I couldn’t believe the quality I received for such a relatively cheap price!”
I recently bought a Classenti CDP1 from your website, and I couldn’t believe the quality I received for such a relatively cheap price! I needed something to practice on when I went away to University, that felt and sounded as close as possible to an actual piano, and the CDP1 is quite sufficient for this need. It even went one better than my piano at home by including a sostenuto pedal!
I would say this is an excellent practice substitute for a piano, although for gigs and the like a stage piano with better sounds and functions would probably be more useful. The metronome function is especially helpful for technical practice.
It only took about 10 mins for two of us to assemble first time, and the fact so much of it comes apart means it is pretty easy to take places in a car. If like me you are too lazy to have to walk somewhere everyday to do your practice. Thank you because it is a brilliant piano!
Joe Schultz
(Hull)
P.S. Also, the fact you can plug in headphones means that you can practice at any time of the day without disturbing people, which is great!
Classenti CDP1 Features
Sound
Digitally sampled in Japan.
88 Full Size, Fully Weighted Piano Keys
Represents the full 7¼ octave range of an upright or grand piano. The keys are exactly the same size as a real piano.
Touch Sensitive Keys
The harder you strike the key, the louder it sounds. Gives added expression to your music.
Touch Sensitivity Levels: 4. This allows you to play each note at 4 different volume levels (p, mp, mf, f).
Graded Hammer Action Keyboard
With heavier key weighting in the bass, getting progressively lighter as you go up the keyboard. This mimics the exact feel of an upright or grand piano.
8 Instrumental Voices (In addition, each voice can be combined with another. This creates a total of 15 different sounds)
Piano 1, Piano 2 (Brighter sound. Good for jazz), Electric Piano 1, Electric Piano 2, Harpsichord, Organ, Strings and Vibraphone.
Built-in Speakers
2 x 15 watts – that’s 30 watts stereo amplification!
Record and Play Back
This feature allows you to record your own music. All you need to do is press the ‘record’ button and start playing. When you’ve finished playing, press the ‘play’ button and it will play back your song. The recording feature is also compatible with PC music file formats. In other words, you can record yourself in a file format that can then be transferred to other media (CDs, MP3 etc.)
Built-in Metronome
No need to buy one, it’s built-in. Essential for learning how to play in time. You can adjust the speed to suit the music you are playing.
Voltage Adjustment
The Classenti CDP1 has a built-in transformer which allows you to use the piano in any Country. It automatically adjusts to your Country’s voltage!
Power Adaptor
AC mains adaptor with UK plug included.
3 Pedals: Sustain, Soft and Sostenuto
Sustain pedal. This is the pedal on the right. On upright pianos it is sometimes referred to as a ‘damper pedal’. This pedal allows you to sustain any note, or notes, without having to hold the key down.
Soft pedal. This is the pedal on the left. Pressing this down makes the sound a lot quieter. It’s very useful when you’re required to play something very delicate.
Sostenuto pedal. This pedal is in the middle. Used mainly by experienced pianists. The sostenuto pedal sustains only notes that are depressed at the time the pedal is depressed. More proficient players use it when a note, or notes need to be sustained without being disturbed when the right pedal comes into play.
Key Weight Control
Prefer a heavier or lighter touch? No problem, just use the key weight control button to select from three settings: Standard, heavy and light. The piano’s default setting is standard. The keys remain touch sensitive on all settings.
Cabinet (Keyboard, Base, Legs, Pedal board)
Extremely strong, hard wearing cabinet and base
Really easy to assemble or take apart
Easy to move the piano around (even on your own)
Elegant, stylish, curved edge design. Looks stunning in any home
Half backboard (this reduces the overall piano weight by 3kg)
Available Colours: Dark rosewood, polished ebony, cherry, black satin, maple, or mahogany
Black control panel
Fixed Wooden Stand
The fixed wooden stand (which is extremely sturdy, by the way) with all three pedals built-in, is included in the price. With just 4 screws connecting the keyboard section with the legs, and 4 screws that connect the legs to the pedal board, the CDP1 can be put together or taken apart with ease.
Folding Music Desk
The music desk is on two hinges. It folds down if you need to store or transport your piano. And it can also be easily removed.
Sound Source
Japanese engineers created the Classenti sound by combining a multitude of tones from the world’s finest concert grand pianos. These engineers didn’t just take the sound from one grand piano they took the richest, most vibrant ones; enhanced them, then came up with a digitally sampled version that’s quite unique. I don’t know how they did this, but the result is a clean, piano sound that’s incredibly realistic.
The sound of the CDP1 is a little on the bright side (like most Japanese pianos!) This is mainly to do with the size, power output and position of the speakers. Larger, more powerful speakers would certainly add more warmth to the sound. If you want a deeper, warmer sound then check out the Classenti CDP2.
Headphones
2 x Headphone jacks to connect headphones. Two players can play with headphones at the same time.
64 Note Polyphony
This allows you to play up to 64 notes simultaneously (I know you only have 10 fingers, but this includes notes held down by the pedal).
MIDI In/Out
You can connect to your computer and other MIDI compatible hardware. Allows interaction with piano tuition PC software, and music notation software such as Sibelius, Finale, Notation Composer, Magic Score, Music Time, Quick Score and many more. If you’re into composing them the MIDI In/Out is a must.
AUX In (also known as ‘Line in’ or ‘audio in’)
The Aux-in (or auxiliary-in) allows you to connect external music sources (with RCA outputs) such as your PDA or MP3 player.
AUX Out (also known as ‘Line out’ or ‘audio out’)
If you want to give a live performance, connect your Classenti piano to your hi-fi system through the AUX-out (or auxiliary-out).
Transpose
Change your piano’s pitch to play along with other instruments such as trumpet, clarinet, etc. Or make some musical pieces more comfortable for singers.
Reverb
This produces a slight echo on each note to mimic the sound a grand piano makes in a concert hall.
Dual Voice With Layer Balance
Choose any two sounds and merge them together. A very nice combination is piano combined with strings.
Master Volume Switch
You can turn the sound right down for late night playing, or up to its maximum for loud performances.
Power Switch
You can turn your piano on or off without having to reach for the mains socket.
More Features:
8 demo songs
32 practice songs
1 track sequencer. Approximately 5,000 notes
Headphone jack to connect your headphones
Simple to use, sleek, black control panel. You can select any sound/function at the press of a button

“The heavy weighted keys make it a luxury to play”
The heavy weighted keys make it a luxury to play, the sound quality is marvellous and sounds very professional but the una-corda is much to sensitive so I can’t soften the melody at selected times but over all the piano is a complete success and worth the money
James Allen, Ipswich, UK
Advantages Of The CDP2 (Next Model Up In The Range) Over The CDP1
The main advantage is the sound quality. The CDP2 has a warmer, deeper, more resonant piano sound. This is due to its even better sampling, larger and more powerful speakers, and speaker position.
The CDP2 has a sliding key cover. This will protect your piano keys from getting chipped or ruined by liquid spills. It also stops dust from getting in-between and under the keys.
The almost full backboard on the CDP2 provides a stronger and more stable piano. The main panels are less likely to be damaged if you intend moving your piano around a lot.
If you use a lot of individual sheet music, rather than books, the extra length music desk on the CDP2 comes in really handy.
The CDP2’s simplified user panel was designed to reduce the chances of being distracted while playing. Only 3 buttons are viewable on the user panel.
Questions
Q/ “Why is the action on the Classenti digital piano so realistic?”
A/ After years of research and development, Classenti has patented a new piano action mechanism called “Real Hammer Action Mechanic With Adjustable Action Point”.
In plain English, this really means: The moving parts that are connected to the piano key have been designed to feel close to a real piano.
Q/ “Do you have any idea how the Classenti CDP2 and CDP3 compare for resale prices if we might want to upgrade after say 2 years?”
For instance, if we were to buy another piano from you and they were in good condition, what would you buy them back for? (this is not a meant to be a commitment on your part, but just to get an idea comparing them).
A/ Classenti digital pianos have got a good resale value.
A two year old CDP2 or CDP3 should sell for between 50% and 60% of the price you paid for it. This is assuming you keep it in good condition, of course. If you want to upgrade to an upright piano later then we would offer you an attractive part-exchange price.
Q/ “I have been thinking about the Classenti but would be nervous about buying without trying it first. Do you know of any stockists in Dublin Ireland by any chance?”
A/ There aren’t any stockists of Classenti digital pianos in Ireland.
Classenti digital pianos can only be purchased online. Classenti offer a ’60 day money back if you’re not satisfied’ guarantee. This way you can try the piano out in your home without commitment.
“The look is excellent value for the money. All the other sounds are good. I particularly like the vibes”
The touch is absolutely fine. I use the standard touch, and don’t need to use light or heavy, but it’s good that it’s there. It is quite realistic.
The piano 1 sound is a bit “woolly” in comparison with real pianos. Piano 2 is brighter, which helps – but it still takes a bit of getting used to, after the natural overtones & resonance of a piano.
The look is excellent value for the money. We will have to make a cover for the keys, to keep the dust out, though. The brushed steel “button panel” looks good, but I wonder whether in a future design it might be better made in a darker wood colour, even in plastic! The next model up has only 3 buttons – but I particularly wanted the “one touch” of this model, which enables very quick adjustments whilst playing.
All the other sounds are good. I particularly like the vibes. Strings are fine; the one organ sound is not much like the “Cathedral” it claims, but that’s no problem for me. Being able to mix two sounds is a real bonus; I enjoy the strings to back the piano.
It is very sturdy and managed to fit it without perspiration! From box to Bach in 15 minutes.
I had to sell my piano when we moved here 3 years ago, as I knew it wouldn’t fit in the lounge. But after 3 years, we managed to find just the right spot for this electric piano, and it looks good.
As usual, UK Pianos offered a caring service with good advice before the purchase, and delivery happened exactly when planned.
If I need to make another purchase, for Church or wherever, I’ll certainly be in contact.
Yours
Reverend John Chandler, Colchester, UK
“When listening to Stephanie playing from an adjacent room, it is very difficult to tell which piano she is playing – the acoustic or Classenti”
Classenti CDP1 Dark Rosewood
Hi Graham,
Thank you very much, my Classenti piano arrived as promised and I just wanted to let you know what I thought of it.
The keys are not flimsy and have a great, solid feel when played. It is a very stylish piece of equipment. The sound quality is just like an acoustic piano but is better to play because it is more controllable with the volume control and headphone options.
The pedal is just right – not too stiff and it works well.
The record function allows me to hear back what I have just played and correct myself. No strings means no tuning is needed, hence no ongoing additional costs.
It feels like a new piano because the keys aren’t soft to the touch, like some older acoustic pianos. I prefer playing it to an acoustic piano in many ways.
It is a stylish-looking piano. It is very solidly built and stable.
At the moment, it is temporarily located in the lounge of our house, where there is also an upright acoustic piano. When listening to Stephanie playing from an adjacent room, it
is very difficult to tell which piano she is playing – the acoustic or Classenti. This is an indication of its good audio reproduction. It’s good value for money.
Regards,
Mike Brooks, Colchester, Essex, UK
“The touch, sensitivity and tonal qualities are superb making this beautiful instrument very good value for the money”
After having read your excellent guide to choosing an electronic piano, I bought the Classenti CDP1 in cherry from UK Pianos last December. I bought it for my son and he and the rest of the family are delighted with this excellent musical instrument.
Delivery was made when promised and assembly was straight forward. The touch, sensitivity, and tonal qualities are superb making this beautiful instrument very good value for the money.
I would definitely recommend your company and in particular this model of piano.
Many thanks

“The sound is very much like an acoustic piano, and the keys are just as they should be”
Hello Graham
Thank you for your email. We have bought a piano from UK pianos following the comparisons. We bought the Classenti CDP1 for our six year old daughter who has recently begun to learn how to play, and are delighted with it.
The sound is very much like an acoustic piano, and the keys are just as they should be.
The compact size is ideal for anyone short of space, as the depth is minimal. My daughter loves the functions on offer, which are not too complicated for her to use – she especially likes the record and playback facility (and the headphones are
ideal for her to ‘plink plink’ without me knowing – she thinks!)
We are very happy with UK Pianos. We ordered the piano on Friday, and it arrived on the following Monday morning.
Thank you – Lynda
“My son Mark is very pleased so far with the piano’s performance”
Dear Graham
Excellent service! You were kind enough to telephone on the Monday, the piano arrived at nine o’clock the following morning, as promised.
My son Mark is very pleased so far with the piano’s performance.
Assembly was easy, so we expect to find it equally straightforward if we need to dismantle it!
End result? Happy and impressed customer.
David Stevens, Canterbury, UK
“The action is superb – if you shut eyes and ears you would be convinced you are playing a real piano keyboard”
I have been using my CDP1 for almost two weeks now and I would like to say I am VERY pleased. As Graham has said, the action is superb – if you shut eyes and ears you would be convinced you are playing a real piano keyboard.
The sounds are good; personally I prefer Piano2 which is brighter but both are excellent piano sounds for the money. I’ve seen the piano described as woolly, well, it is at very low volume so turn up the volume a bit and it’s fine. The other sounds are fun for playing around (which of course I am still doing!). Overall build quality is much better than I expected for the price and the whole unit has a comforting solid feel to it.
The delivery men were kind enough to put the piano box in the sitting room and I had it up and running in about 25 minutes – solo.
This is actually very easy if you follow the following procedure:-
– Open the box , take out the base and sides and screws. Don’t remove any of the packing on the keyboard
– Turn the box on its side with the keys facing down.
– Build the base & sides, and lay them down, pedals down.
– WITHOUT removing any packing, slide out the keyboard and get rid of the box
– Remove the polythene bag from the two ends of the keyboard and fit the base to it.
– Lift the whole thing to an upright position (which is quite easy as the weight is supported by the feet)
– remove the polystyrene “hoops” and the rest of the packaging
– Play it and smile
Many thanks,
Mike D, Bedford, UK
“I am extremely pleased with it”
Hi Graham, Thanks very much for the speedy delivery.
The piano arrived safely this morning and didn’t take long to assemble with the help of my neighbour!
I am extremely pleased with it.

“I’m amazed at the quality of the sound”
Hi Graham,
I received the piano and I’m amazed at the quality of the sound – I honestly thought that I would not be able to get something that sounded so realistic for that price!

“To my inexperienced ear all I can say is it sounds and feels just like a piano should”
Hi Graham
Just a quick note to let let you know I got my digital piano delivered in perfect condition.
I’ve never so much as touched a piano before but have decided to learn. As a total beginner i needed as much straightforward advice as possible, so your ‘7 things you must know’ document was my starting point.
I can’t emphasise enough how helpful this guide was. Honest, unbiased and straightforward advice. I quickly realised there are a lot more factors to consider than budget.
After checking into a couple of pianos in your ‘best under 500 Pounds’ section (thanks for your email advice re; the Classenti P1 v Casio PX130), I eventually decided to step up a little and go for the Classenti CDP1. It was more than I
planned to spend, but if you’re going to do something, do it right.
Placed my order Thursday. Got a phone call from you Friday to confirm Monday delivery was ok.
Piano arrived as promised Monday. Good packaging – the piano arrived in perfect condition.
Great customer service. Thank you.
To my inexperienced ear all I can say is it sounds and feels just like a piano should.
Rob Lear, Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, UK
“It sounds amazing – it’s the best gift I ever received”
As a complete beginner who has always dreamt of playing and owning a piano, when the chance finally came where I could, I was spoilt with so many choices but sadly didnt know where to start as had no experience of buying a digital piano before.
Then I came across the UK pianos site and the FREE information guide that Graham Howard had put together. This was a great starting point and thinkgs like ‘heavy weighted keys’ (amongst many things) all began to make sense. If it was not enough that Graham had provided a comprehensive guide on the best digital pianos to buy and explaining all their selling features, I was even more pleased when Graham personally responded to my email providing further advice. I told him I was on a budget and he suggested the ‘classenti CDP1’ stating that it was like owning a piano (non digital!). I later contacted him that I had a bigger budget and I found him honest and refreshing when he did not tell me to go for something more expensive and that in fact the classenti CDP1 was still recommended.
I am now the proud and happy owner of the classenti CDP1. It sounds amazing, its so simple to use with no confusing buttons. It arrived on Saturday for my birthday and come Monday I have already learnt a fair few tunes. The only thing is that it doesnt have a cover for the keys, the classenti CDP2 does, but it doesn’t bother me like I thought it would as I am happy with the overall sound and ease of playing.
Its the best gift I ever received and thank you Graham for recommending it to me.

“It is a pleasure dealing with you and I shall
tell friends who are considering buying a piano”
David,
I was very impressed, following my telephone call to you yesterday, by your prompt response in arranging for your technician, Terry, to come this morning.
Terry was both delightful and extremely competent. He immediately identified the problem which I am ashamed to say was that one of the little black plugs into the back of the piano had become loose as a result of some decorators having moved the piano around recently. It was foolish of me not to have noticed this before but at least I now know what to do if it ever happens again! Terry did confirm that the the adaptor was defunct so thank you for sending me the replacement.
I just wanted to say that it is a pleasure dealing with you and I shall certainly tell any friends who are considering buying a piano to come straight to you.
With warm regards
Charles Swallow
I searched the internet, tried several pianos in shops – the Classenti CDP1 one was by far the best for price and tone
Brian Brooks, Finchley N3, London, UK
David,
Just to update you, the new adapter worked beautifully, and the piano is back up and running.
Many thanks,

Many thanks for delivering the Classenti CDP1 piano recently – the man who it was for is very pleased with it.

I purchased a Classenti CDP1 keyboard from UK Pianos just before Christmas, my son is extremely happy with it and plays every night.

More Questions and Comments
Hi Graham,
A few queries:
1] What is the frame made from? Is it a real wood veneer or fake (i.e. printed)? Do scuffs show more on the black than the maple, or the other way round – and could they be polished out?
2) Is the “AUX in” connection compatible with an iPod?
3) Is the “MIDI in/Out” Mac-compatible
4) What is the size of the overall box that the piano would be delivered in?
5) Do two people come to deliver it into the house? If not can delivery be late afternoon/early evening or on a Saturday?

Reply/ Hi Carol
The frame is made of MDF, with a PVC veneer. All
digital pianos are made this way.
Scuffs would show less on the maple finish. Yes,
they could be polished out.
The AUX in is compatible with an iPod.
The MIDI IN/OUT is compatible with a Mac

“Problem resolved – thanks!
I bought a Classenti CDP1 from you in September 2009. It has been
working fine up until now but on Friday, when my daughter tried to
turn the piano on, there was no power/sound. I have tried changing the
fuse and using another socket but this has not resolved the issue.
Both my daughters have been using the piano daily and we never
encountered an issue before. Could you urgently advise what we can do
to get this investigated/resolved as they both have exams coming up
and need the piano to practice and prepare.
Many thanks, Nainesh
Reply/ Hi Mr Shah
I will ask someone to call you today.

Further/ Hi Graham,
Thanks for your swift response. The replacement power adaptor has done the trick and the piano is now working again.
Thanks again.

For the standard I am at and will progress to in the foreseeable future I don’t feel I need a piano with too many ‘bells and whistles’.
Having read your guide I had come to the conclusion that the Classenti CDP1 represented the best combination of touch, sound, price and warranty.
I had therefore made up my mind to contact you to arrange for delivery of a CDP1 under the rent to buy scheme – my thinking being that if I really
did not get on with the instrument I could return it after six months and all I would lose would be the six months rent (but of course I would
have had the use of the piano for that period.)

Mr. Graham,
Thanks for the recommendation on CDP1. I have tried it on some videos and I must say I love its sound. I also believe that it has realistic touch more than Yamaha GHS action.

I recently bought used PianoNova Norma piano. I believe that Classenti CDP1 is the same piano sold by another brand.
It was not in use a lot, it was just staying in the garage.
Few keys are not working properly. The intensity of pressing the key is not the as expected sound. I guess the problem is with contact rubber. I am wondering if it is possible to purchase it from you.
Thank you in advance for answering.
Reply/ Hi Yana
If the keys are stiff, especially when it hasn’t
been played for a while, then the problem
is the grease used on the key mechanism.
It will need to cleaned up and re-greased.
This is a big job, and can only be undertaken
by a digital piano technician.
Let me know if you’d like me to recommend
somebody.

“I have a few questions about the CDP1”
Good afternoon
I have been contemplating renting an electric piano for some time, and am interested in the Classenti CDP1 (Maple version). I am a total beginner, and would like to “dip my toe in the water”, so to speak, rather than blindly buy outright! I have a few questions about this piano, which is the one I am most interested in….
* Do the electronics have a tutorial function to start a beginner off?
* Is there a volume control and/or a headphones socket for silent operation to spare the neighbours?
* Does delivery day have to be a weekday?
* Are the keys weighted to simulate a regular piano?
* Does it have the regular 88 keys?
Thanks for you time and attention.
Kind regards,
Sue Adams (Ms)
Reply/ Hi Sue
The Classenti CDP1 doesn’t have a tutorial function.
But if you buy the bundle you get a free printed
piano method with it.
Yes, it has both volume control and a headphone
connection.
We can deliver on a Saturday if you prefer.
The keys are fully-weighted. This gives it the
same key weight as a regular piano.
It has 88 full size keys.

“How does the Classenti compare to Yamaha?”
Hi Graham
I have one question regarding the Classenti CDP1 piano.
For many years now Yamaha have been voted the best manufacturers for their build quality and sound quality throughout their range.
How does the Classenti CDP1 compare to this as for their build quality and sound quality.
Many thanks, Andy

Hi Andy
There is no doubt that Yamaha is the best for this overall,
across their whole range of pianos.
The Classenti CDP1 is a reliable, well-built piano.
You are also covered by our 5 year guarantee.
The Classenti’s sound is also more natural than
the equivalent priced Yamaha.
To improve on the Classenti CDP1 you would have
to go up to the Yamaha CLP430 at almost double
the price.

“Is there any way to make the piano sound more harsh?”
Dear Graham,
I just bought a classenti cdp1. The feel of the key, and stereo system are pretty good.
Now I like to ask you a question about how to make the piano sound more crispy. The piano sounds a bit mellow to me, regardless of a “normal” piano or a grand piano. Is there any way to make it sound more harsh? I like to have it when playing something exuberant.
Thanks a lot!
Lizi
Reply/ Classenti pianos have a warm (mellow) sound.
This is the way they are designed. They’re sampled
on a European concert grand.
Pianos with a harsher (brighter) sound are the ones
that are modelled on Japanese grands (Yamaha and
Kawai are examples).
But there is something you can do if you prefer this
type of sound…
Just select the ‘Piano 2’ voice. This gives a brighter,
slightly more metallic sound. Maybe this is nearer
to the sound you are looking for?
Give it a try and let me know how you get on.

Graham Howard

Hi Graham,
Thanks for all your help and advice. I am tempted to pay a little more and go for the Classenti CDP1 which has a much higher key touch score and also seems a compact size.
Please let me know if you think this is a good choice and it is available.
My main concern for ordering is where to hide it? I am thinking of making a gift certificate for him to open stating that the present was too big for the sleigh!
with a picture of the correct model and giving a delivery date. The other alternative would be to keep it at a neighbours, so I need to know if it is easily
transportable in the packaging by two people to carry it down the street.
Do you have an estimate of the weight and any dimensions available? I don’t want to put you to any trouble, so no worries if you don’t know.
My second question is what is the latest delivery date you have before Christmas and what is your earliest one afterwards.
Thank you.
Sue
Reply/ Hi Sue
The Classenti CDP1 is an excellent choice.
It has a fully-weighted key touch and a nice tone.
We can deliver to you around the 15th-18th of December.
Any later than this would be risky in case it snows and
the roads get jammed up.
Delivery after Christmas would be early January.
The piano weighs about 50kg.
It can be carried by two people, but not too far.
A sack barrow would make the job easier.
Here are the box dimensions:
143cm x 49cmx 52cm

“Does temperature affect this piano”
I am interested in the Classenti CDP 1 that you mentioned to me.
I did want to know if temperature affects this piano – I would
like to position it in my conservatory?
Paul
Reply/ Hi Paul
The Classenti CDP1 will be OK in your conservatory.
Temperature changes are fine with this digital piano.
But please keep it out of direct sunlight because
the wood will fade over time.
