Reviews
I have at present a Kawai CA 91 & I am considering a change to Yamaha mainly because I have never really been happy with the tone of the higher register keys. I think that they sound slightly thin compared to the Yamaha although the piano in general has been totally reliable.

Questions and Comments
Hello Graham
Thank you very much for sharing with us your experience on digital pianos.
But let me tell you my disagreement with your “ranking” putting Yamaha at
the top.
I am a classical pianist from conservatory and I play classic music on
digital piano, exclusively.
In need of a digital piano, besides my acoustic grand one, 3 years ago I
researched a bit the market in order to understand the “ideal” digital
instrument for my purposes.
Well, in 2008 I definitely opted for a Kawai CA91! I compared it with
similar Yamahas but it won hands down in every aspects: touch, realism,
mechanism, colour and so no.
Well, needless to say, only a “pale” resemblance with real acoustic pianos,
but definitely better than Yamahas I tried at that time.
I understand that this could depend on my personal taste, but hope Yamahas
have improved in the last 3 years, otherwise I do not see how they could
be a substitute for Kawai when it comes to classic music
Sincerely
Gigi
