Real Orchestra Sound Source ‘ROS Version 4’
To achieve a more authentic sound, the 32MB new ROS version 4 was developed. The Broadway BG1 has a huge 32MB stereo sound source including a 12MB grand piano sound plus 20MB realistic orchestra sounds. All piano sampling is done in stereo to preserve the natural imaging of the sound. Different dynamic levels are copied from a real, acoustic concert grand piano. This enhances the sound.
RHA Graded Hammer Action Keyboard
RHA (Real Hammer Action) simulates the natural touch and playing performance of an acoustic grand piano. It offers a smooth and responsive feel. The Keyboard doesn’t use springs, instead its action is provided by hammer weight, which gives it an authentic piano feel.
128-Note Polyphony
Conventional digital pianos quickly run out of notes when playing complex music. But the Broadway BG1 offers a maximum 128-note polyphony, so there’s no chance you can run out of notes.
SMF Player with SD Memory Card
Simply select an SMF file for playback and watch the automatic keyboard as it plays the music. The Broadway BG1 houses a SD card, so you can input music data from a SD memory card. The SMF player allows you to enjoy the player piano without any modification of the SMF file.
Downloading Files to the SD Card
There are several file sharing sites which allow for download of MIDI files to load onto your SD Card. A good one is http://www.vonna.com/christmas/music/music-midi.html
Try this site and look for files with extensions that are .smf (Standard Midi File).
Also look at several other sites on google for Standard Midi Files that will also play on the Broadway BG1.
Download and save your midi files onto your computer from one of these sites.
Now you will need to insert an SD Card Reader into your Computer, insert the Blue SD Card into the reader and then drag and drop the files onto the SD Card Device icon displayed on your desktop. Once loaded, insert the blue SD card into the reader slot back on the BG1 itself and hit the ‘SD CARD’ button on the piano. Using your DATA WHEEL, select SAVE RECORDED SONG – and away you go!

Questions and Answers
Hi Graham,
We are interested in the digital baby grand piano, Kurzweil CGP220W. May I ask what’s your thoughts on the cheaper option, Broadway BG1 Digital baby grand ?
It’s obviously important the looks, sound and hammer action feel of the keys. As when we talked on Friday the piano would be in hotel, restaurants. We are seeking a close sound to acoustic, oh and we are very pleased with the piano you supplied to our home, Yamaha CLP 585PE Digital.
Please advise.
Best regards
Ricky
Reply/ Hi Ricky
The Broadway BG1 is discontinued and sold out.
It was a very popular piano and is due to be replaced
in December with the new model BG2.
The new model is much the same in way of shape,
size, features and sound. The main difference is the
new wooden key action. So it feels even closer to
playing a real grand piano.
Are you able to wait until December?
The price is likely to come in under £3,000.
Kind regards,
Graham Howard
