“Roland FP30 – a better keyboard action”
Thank you Graham, and for the opportunity to try the Broadway.
I went with the Roland FP-30X with its similar unamplified volume and (as you signalled) a better keyboard action. The Yamaha action is almost certainly better still, but the volume is not acceptable at the truly portable level.
I’m grateful for your online advice. I’m keener than you on replicating even imperfect characteristics of an acoustic piano. That’s probably because I already play one – but is also applicable to those who might aspire to do so.
Best wishes, Ruth
Questions
Hi Graham,
I spoke to Terry and he said he can’t fit my piano. If I was to trade in mine for similar (doesn’t have to be Roland) how much would it cost?
Reply/ Hi Caroline
A similar piano would be the Broadway AB1.
The Broadway is actually a nicer piano all round.
It has fully-weighted keys (the Roland FP-30 only
has weighted keys), so the feel is much closer
to a real acoustic piano.
What’s more, the Broadway’s keys are more
responsive and you can play with a wider range
of dynamics.
The trade-in price for your piano is only £50.
The reason is because the piano is un-repairable
and it is a much older model (certain parts are
no longer available for it).
If you would like to go ahead then please call

The Digital Piano Bible has been invaluable in my choice of piano. If not for the information in the “Bible” I might have ended up with a really poor choice.
As it is I settled on a Roland FP30X. It just pipped the post over the Yamaha P125.
Unfortunately neither of these you have in stock and have ordered from another supplier.
Thank you for making your Digital Pianos Bible available, it was much appreciated.
I look forward to returning to Pianos UK in the not too distant future for an upgrade or whatever.
Kind regards
Jeremy

Hi Graham
Further to the below, I’ve spoken to Terry and it seems it’s not going to be economical to repair my digital piano. This is a shame, but a good excuse for an upgrade! I’ve been looking at your website and am interested in buying the Broadway BW1. Would a trade-in be possible please, and if so how would it work?
Many thanks and best regards.
Reply/ Hi Rebecca
Yes, we would be happy to trade in your piano
for a brand new Broadway BW1.
We can collect the piano at the same time
the new one is delivered.

more information and a part exchange price.
