Dear Graham
I am writing to you about my own search for a digital piano. You may remember I have a limited space available at home for a piano of any kind, and I gave up looking at the end of 2022, deferring it until I had more time in the New Year. Well my brother recently pointed out to me that the Yamaha P-121 was a very good and affordable piano and, at only 73 keys, reduced the space requirement without very much reduction in playability, given that the lost half-octave at the top and bottom of the register are rarely needed and can usually be compensated for quite easily if required.
So I did my research, including on your own site, but you were showing the P-121 as discontinued. I managed to find it still available and in stock somewhere else at a good price, so I placed an order and it was delivered at the end of last week, together with the L-121 stand and the LP-1 3-pedal attachment. The other thing that is positive about it, and which I hadn’t thought about previously, is that it can be used as a portable piano, and coincidentally my church was looking for someone to deputise for their main keyboard player and the P-121 gives me scope to volunteer for that too. All-in all, I am very pleased with the arrangement, and am glad I didn’t jump into the market last year.
So, sorry we didn’t finish up doing a deal together. I owed it to you though to report back on the outcome of my searches. Thank you for your invaluable advice on all the technical aspect of the modern digital piano, which helped me ask the right questions.

Dear Graham
Thank you for all your advice and help. While I agonised over which piano to buy, I became aware that the P121 and P125 were rapidly becoming unavailable. Although the P125A is almost identical to the P125, reviewers do not seem to be impressed by the connection downgrade. I eventually decided to go with the Yamaha P121 because of space issues and managed to find one in stock at a reasonable price at Thomanns, which is one of the stores recommended in your ‘Bible’.
I am sorry not to be able to buy from UK Pianos
Best wishes, Dorothy
