Description
True piano feel
Equip yourself with piano skills you can take anywhere. Practising on a P45 digital means you’ll never be thrown by the feeling of playing a different instrument. No matter what sort of piano you sit down at you won’t have to adjust your approach.
Authentic features like the graded hammer standard keyboard and the sustain pedal give the natural feel of playing on an acoustic. The keys work with a mechanism that replicates the hammer action in an acoustic piano. This gives you authentic-feeling resistance when you press down, in contrast to button-like keys on a non-weighted instrument.
Realistic touches like the heavier grading at the bottom of the keyboard and a lighter feel for the higher keys are true to a piano’s nature. Likewise, you’ll get used to using a pedal just like one you’d find on an acoustic piano, making this instrument even more worthwhile to play on. It creates a realistic pedal action as it sustains your notes. Authentic features like this make the P45 a favourite amongst teachers to help students build proper technique.
Performance-ready sound
You’ll impress with an expressive piano tone. The P45 is great to practise on but it is more than up to the job of performance too. You won’t be compromising on sound with this entry-level piano, which is one of the joys of going digital.
As you play on your P45, your music comes out through the piano’s powerful, but discreetly placed, speakers, creating an impressive stereo sound. You can practise late into the night without bothering your neighbours by plugging in headphones. Then, you can dazzle with a polished performance by turning up the volume and filling a venue.
Advanced wave memory technology is used to create the P45’s authentic tone. This is a sampling system which applies high-quality digital filter technology to recorded pieces of audio to create just the right sound for each key. It is able to realistically create the variations in waveform that come when you play in different dynamics. You are free to play just how you like with this rich sound library.
Portable playing
You can even take your own piano from home to performances. There’s nothing holding you back with the lightweight P45, which is easy to transport in its slim, attractive design. You’ll know there’s a piano you can trust at any venue when you can bring the one you know and love wherever you go. It is only 11.5kg and has a depth of less than 30 cm, which makes it easily portable but also compact when it’s at home. It’s slim size won’t take over your room without compromising on authentic tone.
Perks of going digital
You’re in control with a digital piano. The acoustic piano setting is rich and authentic and you can easily get back to it from a different voice with the Grand Piano/Function button. You can move between the different voices easily with this simple one-button operation. Get inspired by voice demo songs. Switch between the 10 voices depending on the atmosphere you want to create, with a variety from grand piano to funky options like electric piano and vibraphone.
Learning is easy with an inbuilt metronome option and the ability to switch from hard, medium, soft, or fixed touch sensitivity. You and your teacher will also be thankful for the Duo Function which splits the keyboard in half, so they can demonstrate a technique which you can copy on your half of the keys, as well as letting you play duets together.
Have fun with your style by layering, or adding two different voices over one another to create just the sound that suits you. Going digital means that you can have some of these perks of a keyboard as well as getting a true piano sound.

Questions
We would like to purchase the electric Yamaha p45s for the school and we were wondering if you could provide us with a quotation since we would like to purchase more than one.
You response will be highly appreciated.
Reply/ Dear Obrien
We don’t have any Yamaha P45 pianos in stock.
Very sorry for that.
However, we would like to recommend an alternative
piano that is similar in size but has larger speakers
and a more sensitive key touch. All in all a more
realistic piano to play than Yamaha the P45.
This is the Broadway AB1.
You can see it here
Please let me know if you are interested in this.
We can offer you a deal if you are buying more than one.
Kind regards
Graham Howard

“What is a better choice, Yamaha P45 or P60?”
(For my daughter who is still a beginner)
Reply/ Hi Sol
The Yamaha P45 is a better choice, as it’s
a much newer piano than the old P60.
However, both the P45 and P60 have only
a medium-weighted key touch and limited
touch sensitivity, which is no good for
learning on really.
I recommend for you either the Broadway AB1
or Gewa PP-3
I also advice not to buy at the moment, as
it’s early in the learning process.
I recommend the Rent-to-Own programme.
You can rent either of the pianos above and
the first 6 months rental payments count
towards the price.
You can see details of this here:
Let me know if you’d like to go for either of
these pianos or have any questions.

“Please recommend a second hand digital piano for my daughter”
I am looking for a second hand digital piano for my daughter. She is starting grade 5 and I have just found out that Yamaha P-45 doesn’t support 3 pedals.
Could you please recommend a second hand digital piano for her?
I hope it has the similar feeling as regular pianos and doesn’t cost too much.
Thank you.
Reply/ Hi Seoin
The Yamaha P45 is not suitable for your daughter
anyway, because it has only medium-weighted keys
and very small speakers.
For grade 5 level and above she needs a piano
that has enough dynamic levels and good
key touch sensitivity enabling here to play
more technical pieces without a struggle.
You can see our selection of second hand digital pianos here
They’re also available on the Rent-to-Own programme here
In particular, I recommend for your daughter either
the Roland HP103 or Kurzweil MP10.
